Executive Director of HR & Organisational Development
Bournemouth & Poole College is responsible for improving the prospects of over 12,000 students per annum by delivering education and training. Confirmed as continuing to be “Good” by Ofsted at our last inspection in February 2016, the college is part of the further education sector which is currently experiencing a period of intense change and feeling the impact of economic austerity. With around 800 employees, we want to make the most of the opportunities that face us in the next few years and use them to become an “Outstanding” college by 2020.
As we embark on this significant challenge, we are looking to recruit a Director of HR & Organisational Development who will form part of the Executive team that will lead the college through this exciting period. The role will have particular responsibility for developing a culture that enables our staff to feel positive, engaged and valued and that maintains their high skills base and level of academic knowledge so that they can perform to the best of their ability. In order to support this, you will need to ensure that our HR strategies, systems and processes at every stage of the employee lifecycle are fair, efficient and effective and also that the college remains compliant.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact on the future of our college!
We’re looking for someone with a high degree of energy, vision and experience and who demonstrates cultural leadership behaviours together with a track record of both initiating and managing significant strategic and operational change; someone who can think commercially whilst respecting the core purpose and ethos of our college.
You should be qualified to at least MCIPD level and have extensive knowledge of, and experience within, HR leadership roles. Some experience of managing within a shared services environment would be helpful.
Superior interpersonal, coaching, communication, negotiation and consultative skills across all levels will be needed alongside the ability to engage with, and win the respect of, leaders and managers to successfully influence them on key change initiatives.
Please apply using our application form (not by CV only) and ensure that you include all relevant skills and experience to stand the best chance of securing an interview.
Closing Date: 23 February 2017.
Skype interviews for long listed candidates to be held on 13 March 2017. Final selection day for shortlisted candidates to be held on our Poole campus on 24 March 2017.
