Day rate - £350-400 per day

Whilst the nature of restructuring work is often challenging, it always helps with you have great team around you. You will get to work with a close-knit team that is professional yet incredibly friendly and good-humoured. They are a very relaxed and friendly bunch that we are sure you will warm to straight away. We certainly did when we met them.
We don’t want to say too much about the client for obvious reasons but it is a dynamic and fast-paced environment that employs people who are truly passionate about what they do.
They are a medium sized business that have grown fairly rapidly over the past 5 years and a driver for this growth has been acquisition. The result of this is a need to undertake a transformation programme that will right-size the business and remove the duplication of roles. It is also an opportunity to drive capability across the business.
What will be keeping you busy?
You will manage the restructuring process from start to finish and ensure that those affected by it are dealt with in a dignified and caring fashion. This is a process that needs to happen but the business want to make sure that it is handled well.
It is likely that there will be up to about 60 roles that may go over a 6 month period, around 10 per month. Whilst the business are likely to avoid a collective redundancy situation, they would like someone that has managed one to ensure that they have the right experience should they need it.
You will create the redundancy and performance improvement plans, prep and coach managers, carry out the at-risk discussions and ensure that the business has all of the correct paperwork prepared. You will need to work out the redundancy calculations and negotiate settlement agreements. There is undoubtedly lots of other work that will occupy your time.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a good generalist that has plenty of experience of managing restructures in commercial settings. You will have worked in fast-paced corporate environments such as retail, IT, telecommunications and you will be able to hit the ground running.
The line managers here do not have lots of experience of this type of process, so you will need to be someone that can help walk them through the process. You will have robust employee relations and employment law knowledge and you will be able to guide the business through this project effectively.
We are looking for someone that will fit well with the HR team. They are a group that all chip in and work closely together. You will not always have all of the information to hand that you need so you will need to be someone that can ask the right questions and deal with ambiguity from time to time. We are looking for someone that is organised and can get the project from A to B as swiftly as possible.
This role should be fairly straightforward for someone with this type of experience. The real draw here is the fact that you will get to work with a genuinely lovely team in a very interesting business.
