Things have to change! The new HR Director of this established and successful energy business is building a team to transform HR within the business from old school to high impact and strong influence. Therefore we are looking for a HR Manager to support the HRBP for the business areas* in planning, implementing and embedding improvements to people practices across the business (* Maintenance, Network, Finance, Corporate Services, SHE, Legal, Stakeholder Relations, IT)

This will include
* Internal and external recruitment and selection into key roles
* Performance management
* Talent management and succession planning activity
* Establishing and maintaining effective employee relations
* Advising and coaching Managers on good people management practices and points of employment law / HR policy
* Ensuring that training needs are addressed and that development opportunities are maximized
* Supporting transactional HR activity such as disciplinaries and grievances and the management of sickness absence
* Managing changes such as restructuring activity and changes to terms and conditions

Person Specification - requirements
* Some experience gained within a generalist HR role
* Working knowledge of employment law
* Preferably CIPD qualified or working towards CIPD qualifications
* Able to build rapport and establish good working relationships at all levels
* Pragmatic and commercial approach to HR
* Good organisational and prioritisation
* Effective communication skills
* A team player, but also able to work with minimal supervision
* Able to travel between business area sites
* Has the ambition and potential to be developed into an HR Business Partner.
