Did you know that lung disease;

  • Affects 1 in 5 people in the UK?
  • Kills more people than Breast cancer?
  • Causes 1 in 10 deaths in the UK?
  • Yet has amongst the lowest investment into research?

However we believe this could be the year that begins to change that low investment and lack of knowledge in lung disease with the help of funders, Parliamentarians, the public – and you!

We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and motivated individual to join us in a generalist standalone HR capacity. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and personable individual who has generalist HR experience and is comfortable being the sole HR expert within the organisation.

You will have a good understanding of employment law and best practice employee relations as the role will provide practical support to managers on employee relations cases such as performance management, absence, disciplinary, grievance and contractual guidance as well as change management processes. The role will also be involved in ad hoc project work, for example, to review and create effective employee engagements processes to make us an ‘employer of choice’.

We are looking for applicants who have an enthusiastic, positive and collaborative approach and who are able to forge and maintain working relationships at all levels. You will be able to work autonomously and will deal with matters proactively and effectively to drive high performance standards and continuous improvement across the organisation.

Not only are we the only UK charity looking after the nation’s lungs but also a fantastic employer. We have recently been nationally recognised as a fantastic place to work after earning a place at no.35 in The Sunday Times Best 100 Not for Profit Organisations. This is a great achievement as only the organisations with the highest level of employee engagements qualify for the list.

We also offer a competitive salary, a range of excellent benefits including our cycle-to-work scheme, interest-free annual season Travelcard loan, 30 days annual leave (plus Bank Holidays), pension scheme and much more.

We are a great organisation and this is a chance to really make a significant difference to an underfunded disease that affects millions.
