An exciting opportunity has arisen for two HR Managers to work within the Employee Services Team at Heartlands Hospital, part of University Hospitals Birmingham.

The Employee Services Team supports and provides specialist advice to all categories of staff and managers across Heartlands Hospital, Good Hope Hospital and Solihull Hospital and Community (HGS) in respect of all aspects of employee relations case work.

Responsible to the Senior HR Manager, and responsible for a team of HR Advisors, this pivotal role will see the successful candidates provide an efficient, responsive and professional employee relations service to HGS, which due to their geographical nature will include an element of cross-site working.

Key areas of activity will include leading a team of both Senior HR Advisors and HR Advisors to support the achievement of the Trust’s key performance indicators which relate to case work including sickness absence. You will be assisting, advising and supporting the HR Employee Relations Team and Managers in relation to employee relations, terms and conditions of employment and Trust policies and procedures. You will also be advising the chair on panels and contributing to the response to employment tribunal claims. You will be the HR lead for the coordination and provision of all workforce information reports in liaison with the Trust’s Workforce team.

The successful applicant will be a graduate of CIPD or have an equivalent post graduate level qualification, or have training and extensive experience of working in a Human Resources Department to Masters Level. Ideally they will have extensive experience in case management and team management together with a sound understanding of employment law as well as excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.

Applications are welcome from individuals who are highly motivated and can demonstrate a desire to deliver excellence both as an individual and within the team.
