The Metropolitan Police Service is the biggest police service in the UK ensuring the safety and security of a thriving economic, cultural and technological capital. London’s growing and ever-changing population of over 9 million is a wonderfully diverse and multicultural mix with 200 different languages spoken. And as one of the most visited cities in the world, London swells even further by an influx of daily commuters, tourists and visitors throughout the year. Ensuring the safety of London’s population and meeting the needs of each of these communities is a hugely complex and challenging task. It is the role of Met’s 45,000 Warranted Officers, Community Support Officers, Special Constables and Support Staff to ensure that communities across one of the world’s premier cities are safe as they go about their business, whether at home, at work or visiting.

How the MPS operates has changed significantly in recent years, achieving a step change in effectiveness, efficiency and confidence. But the scale of ambition for the future is even greater and is reliant on how the Met supports and grows the capability of its people. This is why we are now seeking an outstanding individual to join the Met in the role of Leadership Strategy & Delivery Manager.

As Leadership Strategy & Delivery Manager, you’ll work alongside a team of professionals within the Met’s Leadership, Inclusion and Talent Centre of HR Expertise and play a key role in defining, assessing and developing leadership across the organisation, enabling them to lead a diverse and transforming workforce to ultimately keep London safe for everyone.  Progress is this area is already well under way and as Leadership Strategy & Delivery Manager you’ll continue to develop the leadership strategy, disseminating and embedding leadership frameworks across the organisation.  You will be responsible for scoping, designing, delivering, quality assuring and evaluating a suite of engaging development interventions, tailored for different leadership audiences across the Met and delivered through a variety of commissioned external providers and internal delivery partners.

As an accomplished People professional and experienced leadership development specialist, ideally with a background and/or qualification in Organisational Psychology, you will bring a strong track record of designing, commissioning, managing and evaluating effective leadership development portfolios gained in a large, complex public or private sector environment. You will need to possess excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills, including the ability to work with senior stakeholders and governance frameworks to gain buy-in and sponsorship to invest in leadership development. The Met’s HR teams are in high demand and so you’ll also need to demonstrate that you can adapt to, and navigate this complex and high demand environment, with confidence and flexibility.

By joining the Metropolitan Police Service, you will be helping to protect the lives of London’s communities. There’s nothing more rewarding than knowing that your efforts are having an impact on such a large and diverse community. If you feel you have what it takes to join the Met’s drive for change as their new Leadership Development & Delivery Manager and would like to find out more, including how to apply, please contact our recruitment partners at Morgan Law at adrianlewis@morgan-law.com.
