Your new company

A large organisation based in the heart of Bournemouth are seeking an experienced and Chartered HR professional to work as part of a busy HR team providing customer focused HR services.

Your new role

To support the HR Manager in the provision of HR services across specific departments and business units.
You will be the main point of contact for day to day operational issues within service areas, which will include HR support for change management, service configuration, employee relations, interpretation of employment legislation and development of employment policy and procedures.

Main Responsibilities:

Operational Human Resource Management

* Under the direction of the HRM to ensure best practice in operational HR management s through the provision of high quality, consistent, robust, proactive and timely advice to leaders, managers and staff, ensuring compliance with best practice and employment law.

* To provide HR & employee relations advice on issues such as discipline, grievance, performance, dignity & respect and employment law. To support with investigations, preparation of statement of cases, hearings and ensure compliance with company policies. To be involved in and advise on complex issues as appropriate.

* To support and guide managers with the management of staff health, well being and attendance.

* To interpret and advise on the application of terms and conditions of employment, ensuring compliance with policies, relevant terms and conditions and employment legislation.

* As advised by the HRM, to support change management processes, including the development of consultation documents and redeployment of staff at risk.

* In liaison with the HR Assistant administrative team, to manage, oversee and ensure appropriate administrative and system changes are actioned on day-to-day operational HR matters. This will include recruitment offers, amendments to contracts, terminations, fixed term contract management and implementation of any changes to pay.

* To support in the planning and implementing of cost effective recruitment and selection processes in line with the workforce plan & supporting effective recruitment & retention solutions

* To support the development of people management skills within the organisation by supporting and coaching managers and staff to ensure a transfer of knowledge, as well as developing and implementing specific HR training across the organisation.

* To draft and implement employment policies

* To assist in the development and maintenance of a culture of positive employee relations, working with recognised employee representatives and Trade Unions, as appropriate.

* To undertake training and development sessions for managers on relevant HR issues.

Strategic Lead Responsibilities

* To take a key role on specific projects and pieces of work for the company on areas such as terms and conditions, attendance management, staff engagement

What you'll need to succeed

* Previous experience as an HR Advisor/HR Professional with a generalist background
* Thorough and up to date knowledge of employment law with experience in employee relations, change management, Training and providing HR advice to managers.
* Unionised experience
