Human Resources Officer
The Refugee Council is one of the leading organisations in the UK working with asylum seekers and refugees. Our operational teams based in various locations in England provide advice and assistance across a wide range of issues, including helping asylum seekers through the complexities of the asylum system, addressing issues of destitution and assisting refugees and asylum seekers to access key services including housing, welfare benefits, health, education and employment. Our teams work with relevant agencies including the Home Office, Refugee Community Organisations, Local Authorities, Legal Service Providers, Housing Providers, Health Institutions, Job Centre Plus and other mainstream service providers.
The Refugee Council operates in a challenging and changing environment. The HR team has a key part to play in the recruitment and induction of new staff as well as strategic initiatives such as HR policy development and management development. It is therefore essential that all team members work flexibly and as part of a team, committed to the overall objectives of agreed outcomes and customer service.
We are looking for a part-time Human Resources Officer to join our centralised function serving the whole organisation. The HR Officer represents one post in a team of three permanent posts of HR Manager, HR Officer and HR administrator. Primarily this position is to provide HR Advice on a range of HR issues and polices, to undertake general administration and to be responsible for key HR projects as designated by the HR manager.
You will ideally hold a CIPD qualification with general HR experience at operational level, but even if you are not fully qualified we will consider applications from those who are part-qualified with relevant experience.
