This organisation isa compelling story of two strong heritage brands, now working together to form one business with c.22,000 colleagues listed on the LSE, led by a highly talented and tech savvy Executive group.  It's an opportune time to join the team as a key HRLT member, as they shape their strategy for growth across their business operations; digital, retail, trading, and corporate functions.

As Head of Talent & OD, you will lead a specialist team of five direct reports across; Talent Acquisition (Top 100), Emerging Talent/On-boarding, Leadership/Talent Management, Employee Engagement and Learning and Development.  At this stage of integration, it's the common scenario of identifying best practice from both heritage organisations and embracing new solutions to; identify, mobilise and develop talent across their leadership community - prioritising critical succession planning.

We are working with their Interim Talent/OD specialist as they conclude their cultural assessment, support the build of the new brand strategy, and lead on the creation of their EVP, Vision & Values that will wrap-around each touch point in their employee experience and talent journey.     With the intensity of integration, the presence of an interim incumbent is invaluable to kick start early phases of the work, harness the new team, and provide a seamless transition for the successful permanent hire.

The broader OD/OE work will evolve in the next phase, therefore it's important that you can demonstrate expertise and success across the spectrum.  It's a relatively flat structure, and with a desire to remain agile, and respond quickly to market changes, further changes in the operating model will avoid matrix complexity.

Culturally, there is a strong sense of collaboration across their commercially smart, high intellect employee group, encouraged by the visibility of their Executive Group’s presence out in the business; communicating and engaging their vision authentically, and effectively connecting individual contribution directly to customer experience and business successes.

We are looking for a Talent Development leader with a strong toolkit of skills and experience in building an effective talent journey incorporating; leadership assessment and design capability – demonstrating effective succession planning that has delivered desired results, design and implementation of talent management and development programmes – from early careers/potential through to leadership succession, organisational development and transformation – preferably in a tech savvy, retail, leisure, telco, or FMCG environment.

The environment is open and friendly, and playing on their collegiate passion for sport and gamification - there’s the opportunity to have a lot of fun.  If you have an enthusiasm for similar, combined with a naturally creative approach to seek out new tailored solutions, and an ability to challenge the status quo to engage sponsorship to deploy – this could be just the place for you.
