An incredibly big opportunity

As Senior Programme Manager (Workforce Planning) for London Underground, your remit will span business processes, IT change, people transformation and workforce planning. It’s a pivotal role in which every achievement will be significant. After all, with 5,000 station staff and 600 platform staff serving millions of commuters every day in the nation’s largest city, we don’t do things by halves. That’s why this could be your most impressive challenge to date. This opportunity is a Fixed Term Contract for 2 years.

Shaping plans and delivering change

We will look to you to develop our workforce planning programme, and to drive its delivery. Under your direction, workforce planning will continually approve across every area of our diverse organisation - from stations and trains, to service control, revenue protection and travel ambassadors. What’s more, you’ll develop proposals for implementing workforce plans for our assets and maintenance activities too. As well as increasing the maturity of workforce planning, you’ll champion the roll-out of comparative analytics and analysis to drive business improvement.

Calling on every aspect of your expertise

To be equal to the challenge, you’ll need a combination of business understanding, project management, workforce planning and broad technology knowledge. A qualified and accredited project manager, your knowledge spans programme management methodology such as MSP and Pathway. Crucially, you have a proven ability to implement the significant business change that comes with the introduction of new processes and systems. You understand how large scale systems integration affects an operational business. Your broad knowledge of delivering complex business change alongside technology delivery will equip you to have the right senior level conversations with technology and software vendors, as well as internal tech teams. When it comes to workforce planning and management concepts and approaches, your expertise encompasses rostering and scheduling processes as well as their supporting systems.

Rewards as impressive as your achievements

In return for your expertise, you will enjoy an excellent benefits package including final salary pension scheme and a generous holiday entitlement of 30 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays. You can make significant savings on travel thanks to a free Oyster Card travel pass; 75% discount on national rail season ticket and interest free loan; and discounted travel on the Eurostar. You can also choose to take advantage of a discounted private healthcare scheme, tax-efficient childcare payments, and a host of retail, health, leisure and travel offers.
