Senior ER Manager – c50-55k & benefits – Midlands & UK travel

Reporting to the HR Director, this is an excellent opportunity for a Senior ER Manager to join a forward thinking HR Team to focus on complex ER cases and Trade Union relationships.

You will also have line responsibility for an ER Adviser.

You will be based in the Midlands c4days per week with UK national travel c1 day per week.

The role also has the real potential to offer career development/promotion as the team evolves.

Role Purpose:

  • Driving the business forwards through progressive Industrial Relations in a challenging yet rewarding environment.
  • Achieving business and customer objectives through provision of professional advice and guidance to Line Managers.
  • Ensuring the effective development and maintenance of positive working relationships with trade unions at both local and regional levels.

The ideal candidate:

  • Proven experience in Industrial relations within a heavily unionised environment.
  • Good understanding of HR best practice in industrial and employee relations.
  • Previous experience of attending and managing employee tribunals working with ACAS and legal representatives.
  • Experienced and up to date with employment legislation.
  • Experience of persuading and influencing at all levels within challenging areas.
  • Proven ability of multi-tasking in a busy working environment.
  • Previous experience of managing and delivering HR projects.
  • Good PC skills in Excel and Word.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent ideally with CIPD qualifications.
