ABPM as experts in recruitment have been retained by Motorpoint plc the UK’s largest independent car retailer, to lead the search for a new Human Resources Director. On appointment you will pick up the baton following the successful tenure of the incumbent. She has successfully led and evolved HR within Motorpoint as the group grew from an exciting entrepreneurial concept that disrupted the market to its present sector leading position. Now a quoted company following its successful entry to the main market in 2016, it is poised for further organic growth and site roll outs.  Motorpoint plc retails nearly new cars, up to three years old and with less than 15,000 miles, giving customers an average saving off new list price of £7,000.

Human Resources is an established and respected function. Therefore, this is an exceptional opportunity for an operationally focused HR leader to develop and enhance the HR function further. Your remit is to underpin the ambitions of the Board and develop a People strategy that will align with the goals of Motorpoint plc. People are the DNA of the business's ability to succeed so this is not just an exciting appointment but a business critical role. Motorpoint plc operates from twelve locations across the UK, a contact centre dealing with online enquires and has a team of over 700. Motorpoint is proud to be recognised as a Sunday Times Top 100 Employer for the third consecutive year.

The Role

This is an Operations Board position, reporting directly to the CEO, with a mandate to ensure the Human Resource practices and objectives at Motorpoint plc are delivered. Currently there 5 direct reports to manage therefore a proven successful record of managing a diverse group of functions and individuals is essential.  Working alongside the Operations Board will require strong commercial awareness, communication and influencing skills.  This role definitely requires a can do attitude and the ability to recognise when it’s time to roll your sleeves up
