HR Advisor based in Epping £28,000 - £32,000

Your new company
A leading organistaion based in Epping requires a HR Advisor to join their team on a permanent basis

Your new role
You will provide advice and support to managers on all aspects of employee relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, sickness absence, capability, conduct, performance management, redundancy, maternity, paternity and flexible working ensuring timely progression of such cases, in line with legislation and company policies, and best practice guidance.

Responsibilities
To advise managers on the application of employment law and company policies and procedures, providing coaching and training to promote and maintain effective employee relations and consistency of approach within the work place.
To provide managers chairing formal hearings and meetings with advice and guidance on the appropriate procedures to be followed and the range of appropriate actions or outcomes available to them under such procedures
To provide administrative support in relation to such meetings, including the preparation of investigatory packs and information, arranging the meeting, the production of invitation and outcome letters, the taking and transcribing notes where required, and the recording and storage of the meeting
To assist in the preparation of internal appeal hearings and responses for employment tribunal claims and preparing for hearings.
To provide information to staff in relation to policies, procedures and terms and conditions of service of their employment.
To work proactively with managers to manage and reduce sickness absence.
To work with the HR Manager to review and develop employment policies and ensure the Group Staff Handbook remains up to date.
To keep up to date on developments in employment law and HR best practice.
Recruitment and retention.To provide advice and guidance on terms and conditions of employment, check offer letters and contracts of employment in terms of their accuracy and appropriateness for the employee being recruited and that the appropriate level of authorisation has been obtained.Create and place recruitment advertisements and, where required, submission for approval to management prior to enactment. Arrange recruitment advertising as requested. Where required, help shortlist candidates for approval, produce interview questions, job-related tests and scoring matrices.Schedule and where required, participate in interviews.
To support organisational change initiatives, including the support and management of Redundancy programmes and TUPE transfers, ensuring the Company meets its obligation in terms of consultations and the provision of information.
To support development and delivery of training session for managers on HR management issues.
To work with managers to identify coaching and development needs within their departments bespoke coaching and briefing sessions as required.


What you'll need to succeed
To be successful you will be educated to degree level or equivalent. Have expertise within recruitment, employment law and legislation. You will also have experience of providing advice to managers on HR issues and you MUST be able to demonstrate previous experience when dealing with complex disciplinary, grievance and capability matters.

Good written and oral communication skills are essential, displaying confidence, assertiveness and professionalism. The ability to convey ideas and advise clearly, concisely with conviction and in a persuasive manner.
