Penna is working with De Montfort University to find their Head of HR; this is a time of positive change for the university, making this a great time to help shape its future.
The university has approximately 3,000 staff with around 350 managers; the Human Resources team consist of 40 people who sit under People & Organisational Development.

You will be joining a team sitting within the directorate of People & Organisational Development to lead the HR function and become part of the directorate leadership team.
You will be part of leading the People Strategy focused on supporting and enabling the workforce to deliver the ambitious aims of the university strategy. As Head of Human Resources you will play a significant role in that delivery, ensuring that the processes and style attract and retain the best staff; they will support and enable performance excellence, and will incentivise, reward and nurture talent as well as supporting the wellbeing of their people.
The successful candidate will be an experienced HR leader with excellent HR/Employment law knowledge and experience with a strong commitment to service delivery and enhancement. Ideally you would also have experience of overseeing a Payroll function and working with SAP. You will be able to balance delivery on the ambitious change agenda, alongside ensuring that HR provides a consistently professional service to the university.
A key focus for the role will be to offer a robust HR offering along with supporting the HR team in personal development. The new Head of HR will provide clarity of vision and ensure that strategic plans are achievable and delivered.
