Currently working with a client in Reading who are searching for a true Employee Relations specialist to join them for a 3 to 6 months contract with a possibility of perm. The role will pay up to £500 per day and will be suitable for candidates who have a exceptional UK Employment Law knowledge as well as extensive experience right through to tribunals. This role is the main point for a contact for ER for a large, matrixed company so you will need to be confident and assertive in your approach as well as comfortable dealing with change.

The role of ER Manager will be to provide appropriate risk tolerance employment law advice and guidance to the organisations management teams on individual and collective employee relations issues to enable strong performance management. The role will involve working closely with the HR Advisors and HR Business Partners to ensure that all ER is managed with best practice in mind. You will be happy to take ownership of training the business and teams to ensure that they are fully trained in this area. The processes for this company are out of date so part of this role will be to make improvements to ensure that it is fit for purpose therefore the successful candidate should be comfortable with the day to day as well as the project side of the role. You will also proactively recommend and input into policy guidance any legislative changes in employment law as well as recommending and inputting into contentious employment law claims.

Duties include;

* Management of risk and successful resolution of employee relations issues and employment law cases
* Management of the advice line (third party supplier) and ensure full tripartite interaction with the law firm, working closely with all parties
* Ensure 'early warning' system of upcoming legislation and its potential impacts to senior HR team and business leaders
* Ensure case law updates are provided on a regular basis to HR team to foster increased knowledge
* Identification of employee relations issues with trend analysis, narrative and proposals for review and implementation
* Management and development of a team of employee relations consultants handling disciplinaries ,grievances and other employment law related case loads
* Review of policy and procedures and identification of employee relations issues
* Liaise closely with IR for related activities where applicable

This is an interesting role that will offer the right candidate the chance to make a difference in a company going through large scale transition. The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of 10 years plus, UK employment law experience involving the full range of employee relations issues, particularly performance management, disciplinary and grievance and discrimination. You will have clear experience of drafting ET1/3 and working knowledge of the employment tribunal and the interlocutory process. Preference is for candidates to have had representation experience in employment tribunals and a legal qualification and / or higher degree in employment law and relations.
