The Role

We have a great opportunity at Kingston University to work with our talented staff to help create an environment that delivers academic excellence combined with the best student experience possible. Offering quality HR professional advice across all faculties and directorates, you will be at the heart of understanding our staff and ensuring our solutions comply with current legislation and best practice while supporting the operational requirements. Getting to grips with the challenges faced by each area, you will immerse yourself in their worlds - getting to know the needs of our academics and professional staff while ensuring that we understand how this contributes to academic excellence. In addition, you will understand student experience so that you can fully understand the specifics of our academics day-to-day work. Using this level of knowledge, you will then advise managers on everything from applying HR procedures, employee relations to succession planning. Change management will also make up a key part of your role. You will drive improvements through performance management and redeployment, ensuring your advice is informed by data to achieve long-term transformation.

The Person

The HR team works in partnership with both academics and professional services staff to achieve the overall plans for the University. We expect you to have outstanding communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to develop a full understanding of each faculty or directorate that needs your support. The key is to add real value to our core business which is academic delivery. You will be CIPD qualified with substantial experience of working in HR (in any sector), a good working knowledge of employment law. Your advice will focus on the client needs rather than the process. This requires a special person that uses business intelligence to make informed decisions while also having excellent knowledge and experience of using HR systems, further complemented by good IT skills.

Interviews for this post will be held on Thursday 14th June.
