HR Case Manager/ ER Job in London, paying up to £350/day. 6-12 month opportunity for a government body.

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR Casework manager to join this government organisation's HR team on an interim basis. The successful candidate will apply their knowledge and experience of managing complex absence and performance management cases to a successful conclusion, working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Reporting to the HR Director, you will pro-actively manage a number of attendance cases, in line with the sick absence and capability policies, to ensure a successful outcome. This will include:


* Referring employees to occupational health
* Liaising with employees and their line managers regarding any recommendations made by OH or other medical advisers
* Building relationships with the employees in question and their line managers and HR Business Partner's
* Advising line managers on how best to support and manage employees with a health condition or an injury
* Review cases on a regular basis and take action where appropriate
* Calculate sick pay points

You will manage a number of performance cases, to ensure a successful outcome. This will include assisting line managers to develop action plans for supporting performance improvement, advising line managers on actions to address under-performance, managing complex cases which can include performance and health/disability issues and advising line managers on how to take into account reasonable adjustments when managing cases. You will also be expected to provide advice and guidance to HR Business Partners and other case managers who will be managing some less complex cases and share expertise and best practice on case management.

Candidates looking to apply will need to be able to demonstrate experience of managing complex casework, with particular experience of managing cases involving mental health and disability. You will have good knowledge of the legal framework regarding absence and performance management and have strong communication skills to engage in sensitive conversations in an empathetic, clear and professional manner.
