Interview date: 25–26 June 2018
We’re looking for an innovative individual with L&D experience up to business partner level, to join us as a Learning and Development Business Partner as we support the design and development of our new organisational strategy.
Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through our advice, support and legal services. And we campaign to make sure that, one day, no one will have to turn to us for help. We’re here so no one has to fight bad housing or homelessness on their own.
Our People Directorate develops and implements people management objectives across Shelter. We partner every directorate and department across the organisation to provide tailored, pragmatic and robust people development solutions to business challenges. The wider People Directorate also provides support and advice to over 1,250 staff on employee relations issues, manage restructures and transfers, recruitment and payroll processes, ensure HR policies and procedures are developed and evaluated and much more.
About the Role
Your challenge will be to partner the organisation to understand business needs and analyse and advise on key Learning and Organisation Development initiatives that support the delivery of our business objectives. You’ll also design and deliver, or commission, key L&OD solutions using a range of delivery methods, each tailored for the specific needs of Shelter. Managing the return of investment evaluations on all L&D activities will be important too, as will acting as the key point of contact for partnered areas of the business. And, when it comes to supporting the Head of L&OD in the continued development and delivery of the wider People strategy, such as Performance Management, Leadership Development, Staff Engagement and wider Talent Management initiatives, again, we'll count on you to deliver. Put simply, it’s a great place to make the most of your L&D expertise.
To succeed, you’ll need a proven track record in developing and delivering innovative online and face-to-face L&D solutions. We’ll also be looking for experience of implementing broader L&OD interventions, including how they fit into wider organisational requirements, with a particular emphasis on strategically aligned training needs analysis. Proactive, creative and customer-focused, you have a real flair for building business partnerships, leading change and improving performance and the confidence to challenge the status quo and introduce new ideas. What's more, you're proficient using online authoring/design/learning tools such as Articulate, Adobe, Webinar and Moodle (or a similar LMS).
Benefits include 30 days’ annual leave (pro rata), the possibility of flexible working, enhanced family friendly policies and significant opportunities for learning and development.
Safeguarding is everyone’s business. Shelter is committed to protecting the health, wellbeing and human rights of those we support, and enabling them to live free from harm, abuse and neglect.
