Job Role/ Purpose

Reporting directly into the Head of HR, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day operation of running a busy HR department by implementing the overall people strategy and taking ownership and responsibility for recruitment, operations and company training initiatives.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Deputise for the Head of HR as required
  • Responsible for the full recruitment cycle strategy, growth planning, budget and authorisation, and direct recruitment strategies
  • Work closely with marketing design and execute the employer brand
  • Direct management of HR Advisors
  • Drive and support performance management processes to achieve a high performance culture
  • Responsible for the smooth running of all on boarding including welcome sessions and 12 week planning
  • Responsible for all ER cases, advising and guiding both managers and employees on HR policies and procedures and managing any issues that arise
  • Ensuring that employment law knowledge is current and reflected in policies and procedures across the business
  • Delivery of management and employee training where needed. Building relationships with training providers where necessary. Responsible for content selection, budget and training needs analysis
  • Responsible for creating, writing, improving and implementing company policies and procedures
  • Responsible for setting up, conducting and reviewing engagement surveys and listening groups
  • Responsible for the graduate and apprenticeship schemes, assessment centres and ongoing development of Graduates
  • Preparation of monthly reports  
  • Leading new HR initiatives as required
  • Lead on employee wellbeing initiatives

Qualifications

  • CIPD qualified

Experience and knowledge

  • Previous experience in an operational HR role
  • Strong generalist experience
  • Excellent working knowledge of employment law
  • People management experience
  • Experience of working in an in-house recruitment role
  • Experience of developing, implementing and improving recruitment and HR processes
  • Experience of creating, developing and delivering training
