Here at Witherslack Group, our HR experts have the chance to make a bigger impact than most. That’s because they support a team with a very important task: helping children and young people with special educational needs in our outstanding schools and homes. In this new role, you’ll help us be at our best so we can change lives for the better. It’s all about helping young people to build the futures they deserve and achieve the best possible outcomes.

The role
From finding great new talent to smarter workforce planning, you’ll provide expert guidance on HR matters to people across the organisation. You’ll be working directly with Regional Directors, Head Teachers and Home Managers, as well as the wider HR team. Through strong relationships, you’ll implement practical, innovative solutions that support and reinforce our policies. One day, you could be coaching managers on HR issues; the next, you could be masterminding plans to support the business’s needs. Whether you’re focused on employee engagement, internal talent pipelines or organisational change, you’ll insist on legal compliance, check alignment with HR strategy and look for ways to do things better.

Your profile
To join us in this brand new role, you need broad HR expertise covering recruitment, employee relations; policy development; coaching, support and training; and compensation and benefits. You’ll have gained this knowledge in a previous HRBP role, where you’ll have enhanced and honed your skills. However, to be an expert advisor to our team, it’s important that you’re a natural people person too. Ideally you’ll be educated with A levels (or equivalent), a CIPD qualification, solid IT skills and you’ll need the ability to forge relationships and inspire trust and confidence quickly. If you’re organised, proactive and able to express yourself well, you could have what it takes to work with all kinds of people and deal with fast-changing priorities.

About us
Witherslack Group is a leading provider of specialist education and care for children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs, communication difficulties (autistic spectrum conditions, Asperger’s Syndrome, speech, language and communication needs), complex learning needs and challenging behaviours. With 100% of our young people going on to further education, training or employment and market leading Ofsted ratings.

For children with complex, challenging needs, the level of care and education must go above and beyond. That’s what drives us, here at Witherslack Group. With our high staff-to-child ratio and in-house clinical teams, we’re proud to have won a reputation for excellence. Our aspirational homes, schools and ethos help us achieve the best possible outcomes. In short, we’re enhancing life opportunities.

Reward
Our salary and benefits package is among the best in our sector. It includes a competitive salary, company car, Private Medical Cover, contributory pension up to 5%, comprehensive induction and ongoing training, 35 days’ holiday (including bank holidays). We also offer extensive Group staff benefits, such as a Medicash Health Plan/Employee Assistance, Cycle to Work and tax free childcare vouchers. Witherslack conducts DBS Enhanced checks and covers the costs for all new employees.

If you would like to discuss the role further please contact Jo Sibson, Head of People and Talent Development or Samantha Hankinson, Resourcing Manager on 015395 66081 (Option 3).

The Witherslack Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its young people. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check. We are an equal opportunities employer welcoming applications from all sections of the community.
