Your new company
We are looking to recruit for a leading financial services organisation with a staff base of over 3000 employees. The business is looking to recruit into a new team for a specialist Employee relations candidate to join their team initially on a 12-month contract.

Your new role
Reporting into the Head of Employee Relations your role will be supporting all the business and line managers to fulfil their people manager responsibilities through coaching and guidance and the application of employee relations and policy subject matter expertise. You will be responsible for providing operational advice and guidance on all aspects of employee relations case management and people policies. This role is very much a specialist ER role and your role will be 75% working on live cases and 25% supporting managers with queries and problems. Casework includes: disciplinary cases, dismissals, capability, sickness and other absence cases, grievances, appeals, TUPE transfers in and out, redundancies and settlement agreements. As this role starts to grow you will also be involved in reviewing policies and making suitable changes as well as creating any new policies that are needed for the business.

What you'll need to succeed
We are looking for a specialist Employee Relations for this candidate and somebody who has supported a large complex organisation ideally working within a specialist Employee Relations team and managing a high volume of complex cases to all levels.
Experience in supporting line managers through various people situations is essential and the ability to coach staff.
Sound technical skills in relation to employment legislation and People policies
Ability to evidence depth of expertise and technical skills in ER case management
Ability to evidence sound, fair and commercial decision making
A keen eye for identifying a broad range of risks
Ability to evidence managing effective relationships with trade unions and other consultative bodies eg ERF
Sound understanding of HR practices and procedures in relation to employment law and HR policy decisions
