Learning and Development Manager
Tate aims to be the most artistically adventurous and culturally inclusive global art museum. We deliver this aim through our four galleries across the UK - Tate Britain, Tate Modern, Tate Liverpool and Tate St Ives - our digital platforms and collaborations with national and international partners. At the heart of Tate is our collection of art, which includes British art from the 16th century to the present day, and international modern and contemporary art from 1900.
Tate’s success relies on the commitment and talents of a large and diverse team of staff and volunteers. The Tate HR department delivers a service directly to c850 staff and works collaboratively with the People teams in our separate commercial operations - Tate Enterprises and Catering - and our major outsourced contract providers to ensure we are providing an environment where everyone working at Tate has the opportunity to be themselves and their best.
This is an exciting time to be joining Tate. Following the appointment of a new Director a year ago, the organisation is moving into a new stage of its development - where focussing on audiences and people is our priority.
We are looking for an experienced Learning and Development professional who can lead on the delivery of learning and development at Tate. Working with a small team, you will be responsible for devising and delivering learning and development programmes and leading on the “developing people and skills” strand of our people and culture strategy.
Working alongside our two Senior HR Business Partners you will work collaboratively with directors and line managers to ensure Tate is constantly developing individual and organisational capability to meet organisational needs.
You must have substantial experience of working as a lead Learning and Development specialist in an organisation of comparable scale and complexity. We are looking for someone who has the expertise and creativity to help transform our approach to workforce and career development, including setting up an apprenticeship programme at Tate.
With the ability to play a leadership role in increasing diversity and inclusion at Tate, you must be committed to your own and the development of others and able to act as a role model for great personal and team leadership.
