The Role

The Head of HR Shared Services leads the HR Shared Services team, comprising Employee Pay and Pension Services (EPPS), including workforce information reporting and onboarding, an in-house payroll and recruitment (approximately 25 people in total).  The team is responsible for delivering high volume services for approximately 2,500 employees, and has begun a process and digital transformation including a programme to introduce a new HR system.


The Person

The successful candidate will have the following skills/experience:

  • Significant experience of being responsible for delivering an effective, customer-focused service in an HR shared services environment. Previous experience of payroll and pensions would be advantageous.
  • Experience of managing HR ICT systems, including a significant upgrade or implementation and a good understanding of developing management information reports.
  • Knowledge of recruitment processes, policies and procedures and the role they play in delivering strategic outcomes.  Experience managing a recruitment function would be an advantage.
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) or another relevant professional body, or equivalent experience gained through relevant work experience.
