Senior HR Business Partner (Employee Relations)

As a Senior HR Business Partner for Employee Relations your role will have two primary functions:
You will partner with senior leaders to build the capacity, capability and commitment of the CMA’s people through a team of HR Business Partners, enabling the CMA to be a high performing organisation. You will coach and constructively challenge senior leaders, promoting best practice.
In addition to delivering employee relations themed projects you will:
- Deputy lead on the management of union and staff representative consultation and negotiation processes.
- Lead on performance management across the CMA, ensuring that key dates are communicated and liaising with Business Managers to ensure that the end-of-year validation and moderation processes are undertaken effectively.
- Support the CMA Remuneration Committee, being responsible for the full committee agenda, annual cycle and preparation of papers.
- Lead the on-going review and development of the suite of HR policies, ensuring consultation with staff and union representatives and subsequent implementation.
To be successful in your application you will need to be Chartered MCIPD (or equivalent), and will have a proven track record delivering a HR Business Partner service at managerial level within a fast paced, professional services and/or public sector organisation, with an understanding of relevant current employment law and effectively mitigating risk on complex casework.
You will have experience of managing others, in particular, coaching staff and managers to build capability and enhance performance, along with experience in consulting and negotiating with unions and/or staff representatives on matters such as policy development and organisational change activities.
The CMA offers a generous annual leave allowance of 25 days per year that increases to 30 days after 5 years’ service. In addition, the CMA offers generous policies for maternity and paternity leave, parental leave and special leave in the event of domestic emergencies.
