This is a unique opportunity to lead the human resources function for England’s new independent regulator for our world-leading higher education sector.  The Office for Students (OfS) was established by the Higher Education and Research Act in 2017 and became fully operational in April 2018.  The OfS aims to ensure that every student, whatever their background, has a fulfilling experience of higher education that enriches their lives and careers.

The Head of HR and OD will focus on the leadership of the OfS’ 10 strong HR team, ensuring that the organisation uses its human resources in an efficient and effective way to deliver its strategic objectives. In addition, the post-holder will play a significant role in helping the organisation transform itself in to a world-leading regulator. We have started our transformation journey but want an experienced and dynamic leader to help us achieve our aspirations.

The successful candidate will need experience of leading an HR function or larger Organisational Development team and will have excellent relationship management skills which will ensure successful working with both the internal and external stakeholder communities.  As a qualified HR professional, with strong management skills, and an ability to drive change and deliver results within a complex environment, the successful candidate will need experience of working in a regulatory context and/or the wider public sector.

This is an exciting opportunity for those who wish to be part of something new and help regulate and influence a sector that is of significant importance to the entire country. If you think you have the skills, experience, passion and drive to help OfS deliver our objectives we want to hear from you.

The organisation is working towards equal opportunities in employment.
