Personnel Officer (Welfare)
Based at the King’s Court Council Offices, King’s Lynn
We are looking for an experienced HR professional to join our small team which provides the full range of HR services across all Council departments and to leisure services via a service level agreement. Working with two other experienced Personnel Officers this particular role will take the lead in managing sickness absence and associated employee relations activities, working closely with Managers to ensure a clear focus on maximising employee’s attendance at work. As part of the team there is the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of HR activities, although it is envisaged that this post will be responsible for employee welfare and wellbeing issues, employment related equalities and support for employees involved in organisational change processes.
You will be a fully qualified graduate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, holding the CIPD’s Postgraduate or Advance Diploma in Human Resource Management (or equivalent) and have at least three years’ experience of generalist personnel work, ideally within the public sector. You will have previous experience of managing sickness absence and attendance procedures, using your skills to manage effective return to work processes or provide wider welfare support depending on the needs of each specific case. You will also have a good working knowledge of employment and equalities legislation and best practice.
