Reporting to the Executive Director of OD, you will be responsible for building excellent relationships whilst leading a talented and motivated HR team. You will support the development, leadership and delivery of a high performing HR service whilst focusing on excellence, efficiency and great customer service.

A member of the Executive Leadership team, the HR Director will be responsible for the overall people strategy. You will shape the culture of the organisation in accordance with their values and approach to be ambitious, reflective, compassionate and empowering. You will be responsible for the leadership and motivation of the People Team, ensuring a partner and collaborative approach with stakeholders throughout the charity.

Partnering with the Chief Executive you will build, lead and develop a highly engaged and high performing People Team that is recognised for its tangible contribution to organisational success, and valued as a strategic business partner offering relevant expertise and advice. You will ensure that the talent management plan for the organisation is aligned to operational priorities, direct the development of a pay and rewards system to attract, retain and recognise talented individuals who are committed to the organisation, and ensure that the learning and development needs of their people are met.

You will be able to establish, build and maintain successful professional partnerships with relevant stakeholders, you will ensure the provision of a professional HR advisory service to the organisation, advise on complex and sensitive organisational and people issues to enable senior managers to take appropriate action, and provide support, guidance and coaching to other HR professionals in the team.

An FCIPD qualification, together with substantial post qualification experience (or equivalent expertise through experience) of working within a multi-site environment, is essential, as are experience of managing resourcing, learning and development and HR functions, a strong knowledge of employment law and significant experience of managing and advising others on employee relations matters.
