Reporting to the Director of Human Resources at Stoke on Trent College, you will be responsible for the day to day oversight, coaching and mentoring of a small and developing HR team.  This is a hands-on, operationally focused HR role. You will be the expert of the team and a point of escalation on employee relations case work, providing advice, guidance and recommendations on any ER matters, covering; disciplinary, grievance, performance and capability issues. You will also support delivering on projects and some key operational change programmes.

Being part of the College’s ‘New Beginnings’ you will have the passion, drive and commitment for the journey ahead, playing a key role in how the HR team contributes to the College’s new mission, and promises to learners, employers and stakeholders.   

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need:

  • To be CIPD qualified
  • In-depth generalist experience as an HR practitioner
  • Have experience of leading a team
  • A thorough, up to date knowledge of employment law and legislation
  • The ability to coach, motivate and influence others across all levels of an organisation
