Responsibilities will include:

Business Partnering Responsibilities

* Enable, coach and challenge senior leaders on the implementation and delivery of planned and unplanned people management initiatives, projects and programmes in line with People Strategy.
* Support and enable senior leaders with business change and organisational development projects.
* Monitor and interpret HR analytics and share these insights with senior leaders.
* Provide professional support to senior leaders on complex and / or sensitive employee relations issues
* Build relationships and alliances externally, both in the public and private sectors, to scan for emerging trends, understand changes and innovations in people practices.
* Be the HR communications lead, liaising with the communications team on planning HR communications, key messaging and feeding back to the wider HR team on upcoming communications initiatives.

Employee Relations Responsibilities

* In conjunction with the HR Director, lead the ongoing review and development of the HR Strategy.
* Lead performance management ensuring managerial capability and accountability and lead the ongoing review of both systems in the light of best practice and organisational needs.
* Lead the effective management of employee relations casework
* Lead the ongoing review and development of people policies and practices
* Lead delivery of the union and staff representative negotiation and consultation framework
* Lead the ongoing review and development of recognition schemes.
* Responsible for ensuring the ongoing review, development and management of induction and succession planning.
* Support the management of pay review and annual pay awards in conjunction with the Head of HR Operations.

Managerial responsibilities

* Work manage, motivate and develop the team of HR Business Partners
* Build a performance and continuous improvement culture across HR
* Seek opportunities to enhance and develop both the skills and capabilities of the HR team
