Job Details

Artis HR Recruitment are currently supporting an exciting business with the recruitment of a Career Development Manager for a fantastic company who are currently going through a large-scale people transformation. This is a permanent full time post paying £45-60,000 + Car, bonus and PMI and based in Reading.

Role objectives
*Build the technical competence in our core skills and capabilities for employees to perform their roles to the best of their abilities throughout the lifecycle of their employment with the company
*Enable the business to demonstrate competence in key areas from a legal, regulatory and health and safety and best practice point of view to meet our customer service aspirations

Capabilities
*In-depth knowledge of the professional development methodology including apprenticeships and charterships
*Experience of establishing a culture of continuous professional development
*Excellent planning and communications skills
*Ability to extract required professional capabilities and build appropriate development programmes
*Good analytical capability and the ability to tackle critical situations
*Ability to build, develop and maintain constructive working relationships across the business
*Strong leadership quality and the ability to manage team and develop capability, in line with a positive high performing culture
*Established networker both internally and externally in order to understand and implement best practice and latest thinking
Key decisions
*Decide on design and delivery of apprenticeships (with input from BPs, Chief Scientist and Chief Engineer) in order to maximise the return on the apprenticeship levy.
*Decide on and influence technical competencies related to apprenticeships and Charterships within technical competency framework and career pathways
*Decide on training and development requirements for all professional competencies.

Key Accountabilities
*Design a consistent approach to defining and assessing role-specific skills and competencies
*Identify, analyse and embed external best practice into career development, ensuring new methodology and thinking are supporting training design and delivery to develop an effective learning experience
*Deliver continuous improvement to current apprenticeship schemes and design and delivery new apprenticeship programmes in line with our people strategy across the business, optimising the return on the Apprenticeship Levy.
*Design and manage the process for chartership status across professional disciplines, in line with institutional guidelines and requirements
*Manage relationships with external bodies, suppliers and relevant parties to develop essential working partnerships bringing best practice and new methodology into Career Development
*Support the creation and set up of a learning academy
*Select the most effective training delivery solution to support the professional development across the business
*Build external network in order to understand and implement latest thinking
*Build financial business case for training spend on annual basis, control financial spend in line with budget maximising ROI
