Part time HR Advisor - 4 days a week based in Stratford

Your new company
A Leisure company based in Stratford requires a HR Advisor on a part time basis to support the HR Manager and advise on a range of issues including: Absence management, probation, performance management, HR policy and best practice, disciplinary and case management, grievances and payroll

Your new role

* Responsible for managing and supporting Managers with grievance, disciplinary and capability investigations and hearings and escalating to the Head of HR when needed
* Respond to telephone and email enquiries relating to HR challenges promptly, managing expectations
* Provide pragmatic guidance based on policies and HR best practice whilst understanding any commercial risks and/ or benefits of proposed action
* Ensure HR matters are handled fairly and consistently in line with legal and company requirements
* Support recruiting managers to process new starters, HR changes and leavers using relevant systems/ processes
* Assist with smooth processing of payroll via relevant systems
* Maintain and update accurate HR data including personnel records
* Examine new reward and compensation packages to fit the business requirements
* To prepare regular and ad hoc management information reports, to support continuous improvement in the management and monitoring of sickness absence and performance management
* Proactively manage on boarding processes including pre-employment medical questionnaires, provision and recording of proof of eligibility to work in the UK and Disclosure and Barring Service checks where relevant
* Manage maternity, paternity and adoption cases
* Liaise with other team members/ appropriate resources when specialist knowledge is required
* Build understanding of trends in terms of people challenges and work with Head of HR to formulate pro-active and wide-ranging solutions
* Develop knowledge of future business leaders and work with Head of HR to develop talent
* Deliver HR related training as and when required
* Manage projects as directed by HR Manager/ other Directors

What you'll need to succeed

* A strong communicator with the ability to build productive working relationships
* Ability to work with people in all areas of the business
* CIPD qualified or working towards, membership desirable
* Advanced level of MS office skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

* Understands the needs of internal customers and is able to provide pragmatic and relevant advice within multiple Company policies
* Demonstrates commercial awareness by considering benefits, costs and risks of any proposed action
* Challenges managers when appropriate to ensure risks are minimised whilst providing business focussed HR guidance when required
* Manages a wide variety of changing priorities
* Problem solves, takes responsibility and ownership of challenges
* Demonstrates resilience, high energy levels with a commercial and flexible approach
* Communicates effectively and professionally with a willingness to listen to the thoughts and ideas of others
* Demonstrates a strong commitment to self-development and teamwork ensuring a professional, knowledgeable and reliable service to the business

What you'll get in return
A part time opportunity as a HR Advisor working 4 days a week, 32 hours. Either 08.30 - 17.00 or 09.00 - 17.30
