BALPA is the leading trade union representing the UK’s 10,000 commercial pilots.  Located close to London Heathrow, we are looking for a pay and employment policy professional with a mix of analytical and presentation skills to join our friendly team.   Working within an established and well-structured Industrial Relations function, the main duties will comprise of:

  • Collecting and analysing pay, labour market and company financial data;
  • Formulating pay and reward strategies for collective bargaining in the UK’s leading commercial airlines and helicopter companies;
  • Contributing to the overall development of pilot representatives and BALPA full-time officers in their knowledge of pay and reward strategies, tax, training and employment legislation.

The person we are looking for will be comfortable working independently but must also be a great team worker.  Good Excel skills are required with ability in statistical analysis and the presentation of results.  The role would suit an individual with experience in the pay research and employment policy field or a recent graduate in industrial relations, HR management or related subject.
