About the role

We are looking for an exceptional HR Adviser to support the HR Business Partners in our People and OD Directorate. This is an excellent opportunity to make a valuable contribution to the delivery of our people strategy and support the NMC to achieve best practice in all aspects of HR.

You will be responsible for providing advice to managers on a range of employee relations issues including absence management, conduct, capability and grievance matters. You will also provide customer focussed advice to managers and staff on the implementation of HR policies and best practice, and assist with project work to support the achievement of our HR objectives.  You will also support the HR Services Manager with HR operational matters including being the escalation point for our HR Assistants.

Skills and experience required

You will have proven experience in an HR Adviser role and able to demonstrate the ability to communicate clear and credible advice that is business and customer focussed to our stakeholders. You will have good knowledge of HR best practice and employment legislation to support and influence managers’ decision making.  You must be able to demonstrate strong organisational, administrative and IT skills, as well as an excellent team player and able to work autonomously. You will ideally be CIPD qualified, or in the final stages of completing the qualification.
