Your new company

HR in the Home Office means unlocking the potential of more than 30,000 people to ensure one of the original great Departments of State has the talent, performance and resources to keep our borders secure and our citizens safe.  If you are ready to take up an innovative role within our exciting environment of constant and fast paced change then this is the opportunity for you.

Your new role

Based in Croydon, as part of the Leadership Learning and Development team, you will support delivery of the Home Office Leadership Strategy, specifically focusing on senior leadership development (SCS grades). You will have the opportunity to shape a revised development offer, designing, commissioning and implementing a range of innovative interventions to enhance leadership capability within the department.

What you'll do day-to-day

A junior training manager/lead would be expected to manage and co-ordinate discrete SCS leadership development interventions and activities, acting as the main point of contact for delegates and suppliers; managing communications plans; and liaising with commercial colleagues to ensure sound budget management. You will provide accurate and timely MI/data reporting and conduct evaluation and quality assurance activity.

A more senior training manager/lead would be expected to lead a small team, responsible for the design delivery and implementation of our SCS leadership development offer. You will support the business in understanding their specific development needs, providing expert advice/support and developing targeted interventions to address capability gaps. You will manage both core and bespoke programmes of activity and will implement evaluation and quality assurance strategy. You will manage budgets, commercial activities and data reporting requirements. This work will require senior stakeholder engagement with business leaders, HR colleagues and wider civil service partners (CSHR / CSL).
