Your new role

Based in Heathrow, this role is offered on a fixed term basis for two years. The Learning Design Content Manager is responsible for the design and implementation of the operational learning content. You will co-ordinate the familiarisation of all learning content within all our training hubs, reaching across the Home Office function.. 

This is an exciting opportunity for a learning professional with design expertise to influence and implement the foundations for design across a multi-disciplined nationally delivered, design function. You will be managing a team of existing designers with an operational background. Your role will be to work in collaboration with the Learning Design (Digital) Manager to reduce our classroom delivery reliance and introduce digital solutions that enable learner-led options as well an efficient and effective recruitment-based learning curriculum. 

What you'll do day-to-day

  • Contribute and deliver a new learning design plan, in support of the national delivery programme 
  • Conduct learning needs analysis as directed in support of business led priorities 
  • Create a continual professional development plan for the existing design team, including formal accreditation of skills 
  • Review all current learning content extracting “information only” content, negotiating the release back to the business 
  • Liaise with stakeholders across the Home Office responsible for governance of policy to ensure content compliance 
  • Risk analysis, management, mitigation, and contribution to dashboard-based reporting 
  • Compare and contrast content with similar organisations nationally and globally to continually challenge and enhance our own best practice 
  • Building and managing a strong performing, expert team of designers 
  • Working closely with the regional hub senior training managers to ensure compliance and consistent delivery content 

Skills Required

Essential

In all roles, we will require the following knowledge, skills and experience: 

  • Operational HR experience, with knowledge of learning and development theory 
  • Highly organised and able to prioritise effectively against competing demands 
  • Evidence of working collaboratively across teams to deliver 
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills and strong stakeholder management skills 
  • Experience co-ordinating the delivery and implementation of work; identifying and managing risk to inform future plans 
  • Able to think strategically and translate that into pragmatic recommendations and solutions 
  • Strong planning and management skills, with experience managing the workload of diverse teams 
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to distil multiple views into high quality solutions 
  • Evidence of working with and effectively influencing senior stakeholders, communicating regularly on progress 
  • Experience of people and budget management 
  • Hold a recognised professional learning qualification or working towards level 5 or above 
  • Member or Associate of a recognised learning professional body, or willing to work towards 
  • Expertise in the creation of classroom-based learning 
  • Highly organised and able to prioritise effectively against competing demands 
  • Evidence of working collaboratively across teams on multiple sites 
  • Demonstrable facilitation and negotiation skills, with the ability to support senior leaders effectively through governance structures
