Your new role
This role will expose you to a set of complex HR challenges in a competitive business environment and offer you the opportunity to impact on the business. You'll be making a difference for many whilst accelerating your own development. This is a regional post covering 3 locations and you will part of team of 3 HRBPs in the UK reporting into the Head of HR. This is a generalist HR position in a unionised environment with a strong focus on training and developing Managers. Expect time on the road as a key to success in the role. As Business Partner, you will lead HR business partnering with stakeholders on - but not limited to - the following:

* Employee engagement and survey
* Recruiting of onshore staff
* Strategic collaborating and coaching
* Leadership development and talent management
* Performance management and appraisals
* Compensation and salary review
* People development
* Union negotiations
* General employee relations

In collaboration with the HR team and the business units, you will agree key topics and drive the strategic agenda. You will support the global HR processes, lead relevant processes within the annual HR cycle, participate in ad hoc HR initiatives as well as projects in Europe and on a group level.

What you'll need to succeed
This opportunity will ideally suit experienced HRBPs from the same sector and/or more blue-collar environments. Perhaps you have experience from the manufacturing or engineering, for example. You'll be a generalist HR professional with experienced in several HR areas e.g. recruiting, performance management, and leadership development. You will need a proven track record developing and training others. Experience working in a unionised environment is beneficial but not essential. Experience in an international company would be beneficial but not essential.

You need to have a strong understanding of business dynamics and how HR can support and elevate results. As HR Business Partner, you are keen to be proactive in your daily activities, passionate about understanding the business and bringing HR disciplines into operation. You also have a strong desire to drive talent and leadership development. You will be confident and commercial individual with effective communication skills and a proactive approach. You will need to excel at building relationships and engaging stakeholders.

This will suit a team player who will thrive on taking full ownership, including collaborating and following up with other teams to ensure overall deliverables. In addition, you need to be detailed, able handle multiple and various types of tasks.

Ideally, you have a related educational background at a masters level or equivalent experience, CIPD qualified.

As this is a regional post, you must be prepared to travel - you can expect to stay away from home c 2/3 nights per month on average - a hotel and meal allowance will be provided. This enables you to be close to the frontline leaders and drive HR initiatives - which is vital.
