Since 1850, the St Mary’s mission has been to develop the whole person, empowering our community to have a positive impact on the world. The University is an inclusive academic and professional community, where everybody is welcomed. As the University builds on its proud heritage through the implementation of its ambitious strategic plan, Vision 2025, it will be looking for exceptional people to help shape its progressive future.
We are now seeking to appoint a Director of Human Resources to lead the development of our people strategy, ensuring that the University’s strategic aims are supported and enabled through the provision and application of innovative HR and OD services. The Director will lead our HR and OD teams, working in partnership with departments across the University, championing a culture of positivity and inclusivity and supporting a wide range of activity, from staff empowerment to change facilitation. The Director will also be the strategic HR advisor to the senior leadership team.
You will be a CIPD-qualified senior HR leader with experience of leading a full-service HR function. You will be able to evidence a track record of implementing successful HR and OD strategies that have led to a measurable improvement in engagement and performance. You will thrive in an environment that is characterised by complexity and change. Whilst prior higher education sector experience is not essential, you will ideally bring experience of leading employee relations in a unionised environment.
