Job Details
Hays Human Resources is proud to be working in partnership with a market leading manufacturer based in Norfolk, who have an exciting opportunity for a commercial Human Resources Director to join their senior management team. Being part of a Plc Group, they have a blue chip customer base and an enviable track record with ambitious growth plans.
Sitting on the Operating Board, the HR Director will report to the Managing Director and the Group HR Director. You will provide strategic guidance to the MD and the Operating Board on all HR matters. Based in Norfolk, the HR Director will have a broad UK remit to lead and manage the full HR operations across three sites covering culture/employee engagement, employee relations, resourcing, L&D, compensation and benefits, culture and payroll.
You will contribute to the development and delivery of business and operational strategy and its implementation. The HR Director must be capable of leading the HR function in supporting their growth plans and wider business objectives. Whilst a strategic approach will be fundamental to the success of the role, it is also key to be able to demonstrate the ability to flex between operational 'hands on' HR and strategic HR. You will develop and review an on-going HR strategy, policies and processes to help drive organisational development, performance and growth. Act as a strategic business partner to the leadership team to help them make the best decisions when considering all People matters. Champion and improve employee engagement through the business, and lead in driving effective resourcing and talent management strategies and deployment. You will develop the provision of a first class HR service across the business, lead the pay, reward and benefits agenda and look to optimise the Group HRIS. There will also be an opportunity to provide project support as necessary on projects, companywide initiatives, M&A and any other activities as required by the Board to deliver business results.
This is a key leadership role with decisive impact. The HR Director must have high energy, integrity and professional courage to drive performance and delivery across all activities. You will be a credible business leader with natural gravitas to be able to build relationships and influence all levels. Degree educated and a member of the CIPD, you will have broad HR experience in manufacturing or engineering sectors. It is imperative that you have a strong commercial focus to be able to understand the business drivers and to challenge the 'status quo' with confidence, in order to measure the return on your investments. Your ability to be able to inspire and develop a team will be paramount, as is your well-developed influencing, presentation and communication skills. Intellectually rigorous, you will always consider the bigger picture and be able to anticipate problems/solutions with sound judgement. Insightful and objective in your approach, your honed change management, coaching and project management skills will also be tested.
In return they are offering a competitive salary and generous benefits including; car allowance, annual bonus and share awards. You will enjoy an autonomous role with a manufacturer that is best in its class. With lots of stretch potential and an Operating Board who really value the contribution HR can make, this is a key appointment and an opportunity to help shape the future growth and development of the business.
For an informal discussion about the role and the organisation please contact Louisa London, Business Director at Hays Human Resources who is the retained consultant working in partnership with this organisation.
