My client, an NHS Trust in the Northern Home Counties are currently seeking an experienced Medical Staffing professional to provide high level support for the Trust’s medical staffing activities (on an initial interim basis.) 

Medical Staffing Lead, NHS

Circa £250 per day 

The client is looking for an experienced Medical Workforce professional who has particular expertise in the design of junior doctor rotas, ensuring compliance with the 2016 junior doctor contract. It is ideal if candidates have used eRota  and there will be a requirement to review the existing rota templates and redesign them to achieve the most efficient rota that is compliant with the 2016 contract T&C’s.  Improving working patterns for the doctors, maximising  educational content and making recommendations to improve compliance if required (e.g. investment in further Clinical Fellows)is also on the current agenda. 

Other duties will include:

  • Supporting the Trust and relevant Directorates, working with Clinical Leads in the establishment and successful implementation of national initiatives affecting medical staff and to keep abreast of the medical staffing agenda.
  • Providing expert advice and guidance to managers on the application of medical staffing policies and procedures. Working with the Medical Director, Clinical Directors and the Head of Learning and OD to ensure that all Medical staff comply with statutory Mandatory training procedures and that there is regular monitoring of compliance rates.
  • Advising and supporting clinical managers in dealing with employment issues affecting medical staff, ensuring that procedures are followed and that they are fairly and consistently applied, liaising with HR Business Partners and Employee Relations Advisors as required. Supporting and leading as and when required on issues relating to performance of Medical Staff e.g. investigations in line with MHPS.
  • Interpreting medical terms and conditions and apply them using expert knowledge.
