Director of HR & OD
This is an exciting opportunity to join a committed and customer focused Corporate Services Team on a transformational journey. At Plymouth we have a strong focus on value for money, innovation and importantly putting our residents first. Whilst we have already stream-lined some shared services and back-office transactional functions our next priority is to really focus on ensuring the Council are truly connected with our customers and services are redesigned to support this. People, culture and behavioural change will be fundamental to achieving this.
CIPD qualified, you will bring an exemplar track record in modernising HR policies and procedures and building trusting relationships with staff and trade unions. We place great importance on our staff and need someone who will develop and lead the team, equipping them with the right HR capabilities.
You will lead our HR and OD strategy, delivering organisational change, transformation and development of the Council’s services, working closely with corporate partners across the Council to ensure we become even more connected with residents, partners and businesses. This is a chance to shape our approach to future service delivery through cultural change and service modernisation.
Whether you are currently in the public or private sector, you will be an inspiring and driven HR professional with the ability to lead transformational change and cultural improvement, working closely with the leadership team, staff, unions and partners to deliver our key priorities. You will possess excellent relationship management capabilities, along with innovation and a strong track record of leading and supporting organisational wide change programmes.
