- General HR Function, Corporate Strategy
The Home Office has a compelling and simple agenda: to keep our borders secure and our citizens safe. We have three main systems – Homeland Security, Law Enforcement, Border, Immigration and Citizenship and are underpinned by our Corporate Enablers and Capabilities function. Our employees number around 30,000 dedicated and talented people, in a variety of roles, from policy making and working with Ministers to those delivering front-line operations and we are one of the most varied and complex Whitehall departments grappling with a range of social issues.
The wider HR function of the business currently numbers over 500 people, operating across multiple locations, with a diverse range of operations. We have a strong foundation and an effective team in place, however maintaining the ambition to continuously improve and unlock our people’s potential is a key priority for us. We are now looking for a leader with the breadth of HR experience at scale, to support us and add real value to our executive leadership team.
You will be a highly effective business partner who will bring a balance of experience across operational delivery and strategic leadership. Committed to supporting diversity with an ambition to continue the journey of professionalising the HR function across the Home Office, you will bring added innovation and creativity as we continually seek to improve our performance. You will have the opportunity to work in one of the biggest departments in the civil service and be an integral part of the wider civil service HR team at a time of unparalleled transformational change. This is a career defining opportunity that will help shape the department and its future direction.
If you have the appetite for the scale of this challenge, the creativity and determination to deliver, then we look forward to hearing from you.
