HR Systems Manager

18 months FTC

£41,218 - £48,491 p.a. (subject to experience)

About us:

Our purpose is to protect the public by regulating dental professionals in the UK. All dentists, dental nurses, dental technicians, clinical dental technicians, dental hygienists, dental therapists and orthodontic therapists must be registered with us to work in the UK. The support and experience of our dedicated and highly focused teams is invaluable. This is your chance to build on your own skills and experience and make a worthwhile contribution to our work.

The GDC employs approximately 350 employees, mostly based in London. We also engage the services of over 500 associates and panellists who sit on our statutory committees, hearings and fitness to practise panels. From October 2018 a new Birmingham Office opened with circa 90 staff.  Further staff will be joining throughout 2019.

About the role:

The GDC currently relies on a number of unconnected systems to support its HR function. These systems were sourced at various individual points over the past 10 years, and this has resulted in systems that do not synchronise with one another or share data in a meaningful way. We want to look at integrated systems (or systems that interface effectively) with a view to designing HR systems and processes that allow much greater levels of self service for both managers and staff. We want to become more sophisticated in our use of MI and data to inform our decision making, and we need systems that support this. This role will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand and map out our vision, and then robustly manage the roll-out of new/enhanced systems to all areas of our business.

The role will deliver a full-scale HR system review in 2019/20. This will include conducting a thorough ‘as is’ analysis of current HR online systems and capabilities, making recommendations for improvements, and leading on the implementation of new and enhanced processes and systems.

About you:

You will have experience of large-scale system review projects, including implementing joined-up HR systems. Your generalist HR background on all areas of the employee lifecycle will assist you in this.

You will have strong project management skills with evidence of working independently and taking responsibility for meeting agreed targets. You will have contract management experience, especially during implementation projects.

You will have excellent written communication skills, and the ability to develop working relationships across the organisation at all levels. You will be able to easily understand the business needs, confidently obtain them from stakeholders through relevant questioning.

The GDC is committed to equality and diversity. We encourage and support the recruitment, retention and career development of people from as wide a range as possible of ethnic, cultural and social backgrounds.

Benefits:

To reward you for your hard work and commitment, we offer an attractive benefits package that includes a generous pension scheme, flexi-time and 25 days’ annual leave (not inclusive of bank holidays).
