Head of Human Resources Operations

Our Trust is at an exciting period of growth and development. To support our ambitions we are seeking to appoint an outstanding Head of Human Resources Operations to provide operational leadership of Astrea’s central HR support services for the Trust’s academies.
This key role has the autonomy to lead a number of core HR functions at an operational level, ensuring Astrea provides effective support to its academies in general HR advice, Recruitment, Payroll and Pension, and the pioneering Supernova supply programme. Driving excellence in these operational areas through effective leadership of the functions’ team members is an essential for this role.
The Head of HR Operations will be the first point of contact on high level HR matters for a number of key external stakeholders including Trade Unions, Local Authorities, Legal providers, and our Payroll agency. This will be the key advisory role to Astrea Executive Directors, in particular the newly-created role of Executive Director of People and Talent, and the Trustee Board on HR operational matters.
The successful candidate will:
- Be an Honours graduate
- Have a professional qualification (CIPD)
- Have previous experience of working at a senior level in a relevant area – e.g. within education or other relevant public sector or business sector
- Be able to provide evidence of successfully leading and managing change
- Be able to demonstrate evidence of TUPE experience
- Have highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
