Description

The HR Advisor will work as part of a specialist team providing HR support. The role may also require UK travel but not extensive.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

To provide general HR advice, guidance and support to all managers, relating to the interpretation of policies and procedures, terms and conditions and employment issues e.g. discipline, grievance, absence management, terms and conditionsbased on policies and procedures, best practice and the latest employment case law;
Provide support to managers at formal meetings, and to support the manager, where necessary, at the clients' site locations;
To assist the managers produce high quality reports following investigations and statements of case for formal hearings;
To record information accurately, and keep case management information updated on the HR Advisory case management system;
To liaise and work with the HR staff to provide a seamless HR service, to meet with and provide up to date information on ER cases as required by the client;
To assist and contribute to the review and production of policies and procedures
To assist and contribute to the production of guidance documents on ER matters as required;
To assist in the development and growth of HR Advisory as required; and
Undertake duties as required by the service. This list is not exhaustive.


Profile

You will be able to start within 4 weeks and work for a Fixed Term period until December 2019. This could be extended.

The successful candidate will have:



Experience working within a unionised environment, ideally in the public sector;
Commercial understanding and working to deadlines;
Hold a CIPD (or equivalent) qualification, or be working toward this qualification;
An excellent knowledge of a broad range of ER issues and the ability to advise on risk;
Good communication skills;
Good administration skills; and
Good range of IT skills, including the use of Microsoft® Outlook™, Word™ and Excel™
