General HR Function

Our people are our most valuable asset. The work they do benefits lives across the UK, so it’s important to us that they’re fully engaged in, and rewarded for, the vital part they play. In this strategic leadership role, you’ll ensure we have the policies in place to help us recruit and retain highly motivated people.

Working at scale and with complexity, you’ll lead the development and continuous improvement of our pay, reward, benefits and performance strategies. Delivering a clear benefits proposition that demonstrates our wider reward offer, you’ll develop an engagement strategy for communicating this offering.

As a visible leader, you’ll build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels. You’ll ensure that we not only keep up with policy and legislation changes, but that we use insight from our wider services, to maintain and develop the appropriate HR provision. In addition, you’ll be the lead business partner for ALB shareholder teams and build collaborative relationships with trade unions, balancing Group-wide priorities with the needs of individual organisations.

This role calls for an inclusive and engaging leader, supporting and developing your team through complexity, ambiguity and change. With HR experience at senior level, and a solid grounding in employee policy or reward, you should have a track record of delivering initiatives that impact upon organisational behaviour and culture. And, an effective and influential decision-maker, you’ll be confident in your expertise as you work to ensure alignment between our people and business strategies.
