We are looking for an experienced and values-driven Head of Human Resources to report directly to our CEO and lead on strategic workforce planning and people management and development for our 300 passionate and dedicated staff including volunteers and interpreters.

You will be a Chartered member of the CIPD, with a demonstrated commitment to continuous personal development and current knowledge of UK employment law.

You will have a strong ethical framework, outstanding relationship skills and experience of complex employment issues, safeguarding best practice and working successfully with a trade union.

We are seeking candidates who model best practice in people management with a track record in motivating and supporting a team to provide outstanding customer service in relation to employee relations, recruitment and learning and development.

Survivor empowerment is a core value of Freedom from Torture and you will have a special responsibility to champion this in relation to our workforce.

Whilst the role is based in our headquarters in Finsbury Park, occasional travel will be required to our four other national centres in Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester and Newcastle.
