You will be accountable for transforming learning and development activity across both our uniform and Police Staff (non-uniform) workforce. This covers a broad spectrum including operational training of police officers, delivering our “Leadership Promise”* to everyone in the organisation, enhancing our performance and talent management approaches, implementing 70:20:10 learning model, creating a learning culture and improving internal customer experience.

This role is a member of the People and Organisation Development senior leadership team, so has a key role in creating and driving the delivery of our people strategy.  As part of this role, you will lead and manage a diverse team of learning, development and engagement professionals in a large, complex organisation. Diversity and Inclusion is a core objective of our organisation. The successful candidate will have experience of delivering talent and learning change whilst demonstrating their commitment to support and embed Diversity & Inclusion across the organisation.

This role will be working closely with internal leads for implementation of the Policing Education Qualifications Framework (PEQF)** which completely changes the way we recruit and train our police officers from April 2019; and the delivery of the Operational Learning and Development review to transform the learning culture within the organisation.

You will have significant knowledge of best practice, systems, technology and emerging trends in your field. You will have demonstrable examples of creating, transforming and leading organisation wide learning and development strategy, and of delivering complex projects.
