Talent and Performance Manager

This is a brand-new role within a newly shaped talent learning and performance function where there is a real desire to overhaul the approach and offering to a rapidly growing business of scale. Everything is to play for and there is opportunity to make a massive impact across a broad talent and performance agenda.

Reporting to the Head of Talent Learning and Performance the Talent and Performance Manager will be an integral to creating new and more effective approaches to managing talent and performance and developing the overarching strategy that builds to a high-performance culture. The business is diverse and rapidly changing with both sizeable multisite operations populations and professional/head office groups. Thus talent, capability and performance frameworks and career pathways that work effectively for the differing natures of those populations must be created to enable the identification and development talent pools that are both inclusive and enable to business to deliver on its strategic objectives.

You will lead and equip the business to drive the key cycles around talent succession and performance at all levels from senior to early talent and how identified talent pools secure both experiential and formal development activities to create development and career pathways. A key aspect of the role will be in overhauling the frameworks and processes around talent performance and succession such as looking for opportunities to move paper-based processes on-line and updating and replacing a 9 box approach to something more agile that fits the need of the business. You will also play a key role in supporting and upskilling both HR and business leaders in the application of talent and performance frameworks.

This is a great opportunity to play the key role in establishing and embedding what good looks like in talent and performance management within a significant business. You will work closely with the wider HR function and be supported by an early talent advisor in your team. You might have developed your experience and interest in talent and performance management in a number of ways, either in a specialist talent management role, or as an L&D specialist, an HR Business Partner or as an in-house talent acquisition specialist who has played a proactive role in the talent management agenda. You will bring a structured yet creative approach, a strong intellect, excellent stakeholder management and relationship building skills that will stand you in good stead for the high-profile chief executive level exposure you will get with this position. If you bring an understanding around coaching, or a knowledge of occupational psychology or organisational behaviour that would be of additional benefit.

There is huge scope in this role so if it sounds exciting and you would like to hear more or apply then please contact Paul Tanton on 01962 737579 or paul.tanton@consult-hr.co.uk or forward your application by clicking the apply button
