Learning and Development Manager

Part Time : 21.5 hours per week (59% FTE)

The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £35,328 - £42,701 per annum , inclusive of London Allowance.

The Learning and Development Manager will develop, implement and maintain strategies, which are aligned with best practices, policies and processes related to Performance Management and Learning and Development. You will monitor and take a lead on managing the Learning and Development annual budget effectively whilst reporting on ROI. You will ensure full compliance with the required steps throughout the Library Department.

Other areas of responsibility will include ownership of the Library Services Management Training Programme, engaging in professional relationship management with managers and employees across the department, acting as an advisor on all related matters, efficiently managing plans, such as training needs analysis, post training evaluations,  individual career development plans, etc. consistently and in line with the set strategies and with positive results.

Develop and provide regular reports to management in order to ensure provision of accurate data and maintain accurate information.

The successful candidates will keep abreast of best practices in human resource management and maintain high-level working knowledge of all existing services in order to establish correct strategies.

An experienced Learning and Development professional with the ability of working in a fast-paced environment with an output focused innovative mindset.

Possession of effective interpersonal and communication skills and a proven ability to consult and coach others. A natural ability to influence at all levels and be able to make effective decisions is a must. 

Previous experience of working within the Higher Education sector would be desirable.
