It’s an exciting time for Manchester. Our people, businesses, and public services want their city to be in the top flight of world class cities by 2025. This vision, the Our Manchester vision, is underpinned by a new way of working across the Council and our partners. Our People will be the driving force behind making this vision a reality
The Council’s HROD Service has a critical part to play in supporting and equipping our workforce to make this happen, delivering the Council's People Strategy for the organisation. - This is an amazing opportunity to play an exciting and pivotal part in driving this work forwards.
As the Council’s Workforce Policy & Strategy Manager you’ll lead a team of HR Specialists in overseeing a range of key strategic areas crucial to the delivery of the People Strategy. This will include areas like employee wellbeing and reward, and talent management and succession planning, as well as working with partners across the City as we design and deliver new models of integrated working across health and social care and beyond. You’ll also have oversight of work to review and modernise the Council’s people management policy framework, ensuring this goes beyond legal compliance by supporting a modern and responsive working environment and culture.
You’ll be an experienced and innovative HR or OD professional, potentially from any discipline. Or, alternatively, a Policy and Strategy generalist with a background in working across complex and technical disciplines and a desire to work in HR.
Manchester’s HROD team lead by example in demonstrating the Council’s behaviours in the way we work together and with the whole workforce. - It’s a great place to work with fantastic benefits and varied and interesting opportunities to add value, stretch yourself and fulfil your potential.
